This booklet is a collection of thoughts, questions and experiences gathered together from my many years of training in our art. It’s a non-dojo specific work, in that it’s not curriculum based and therefore can be used by any person who studies our method no matter what their own Dojo curriculum may be. I believe everyone at every level of experience, be they 9th Kyu or 15th Dan, will benefit from this work and I am extremely happy to be able to bring it to our system. I have included the table of contents below for you to check out and hopefully “wet your appetite” a bit in anticipation. We all know that as we grow older, each of us find a few moments where we are looking back at what has been and forward at what will be. Water continues to flow under the bridge and I too find myself feeling the pull of “what can I do to repay, or offer back?” to the art that has been so instrumental in my own growth and life experiences. This manual and the material to follow is my attempt at opening all the doors of my own experience trying to freely put forth all the written notes, hard earned experiences and critical observations from my many years of study with Hatsumi Sensei. In the true spirit of openness and common effort, I hope that this manual brings you some measure of understanding, inspiration and joy. I also hope that you would share not only this material with others, but continue to share those same elemental feelings that our art so genuinely professes as well. Again, please accept my most sincere thanks for your ongoing and daily efforts to simply Keep Going! Yosh!
