dan-ordoins“I have over 20 years of martial arts experience and am the founder of the BujinkanLife Dojos in Northern California. After studying Karate and Jujitsu as a teenager I enlisted in the US Army in 1982 Serving 3 years active duty and 3 years reserve. While in service I was in the 82nd US Airborne Division doing peace keeping missions, jungle training, and weapons instruction in South America. In the reserve unit I served as a part of the Special Forces Unit. During my military training I discovered the Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu / Ninjutsu art.

I began formal training in the Bujinkan School around 1988. After attending various Tai Kais in the United States my frist trip to Japan for the Daikomyosai was in 1995. I have been going 1-3 times a year since then.

In 2000, with my wife Kerry watching in Japan, I passed the Godan test (5th degree test) administered by Soke Hatsumi. It was a life changing memorable moment. I currently hold a rank of Ju Dan (10th degree black belt).

My teaching experience includes teaching as a guest instructor at seminars and camps as well as teaching privately.”

shihan-ordoinsBujinkan Life is about a journey, about being on a path of fulfillment, about enriching your life and the lifes around you. Through the philosophy of Dr Masaaki Hatsumi of Japan, the Grandmaster of the 9 traditions of the Bujinkan, we use martial arts to put us on this path.

We train in the nine warrior traditions of the Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu / Ninjutsu headed by Grandmaster Masaaki Hatsumi. The focus of our training is self preservation and life empowerment through the martial arts.

The Bujinkan Dojo is one of the unique martial arts taught as a practical self-defense system, totally integrated with one's everyday life and not isolated from it.

There are no tournaments or championships, the classes are in an environment with emphasis on mastering one's self while helping others through cooperation. If you feel you have something to prove then this dojo is not for you.

The Bujinkan Dojo is a practicing group of Japanese Budo Taijutsu enthusiasts.

The Bujinkan Life Dojo is a private, non-commercial dojo dedicated to the study of Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu. We offer training in traditional Japanese martial arts in the North Sacramento/ Roseville, CA area.

Empowering Through Martial Arts

Some of our goals are:

•  To help people enhance their lives with martial arts.
•  To have a positive impact on the community by teaching about the values of respect, courtesy, and experience the self-confidence that comes from knowing how to defend yourself.
•  To teach how to effectively protect yourself.
•  To provide the inspiration of personal excellence through example.
•  To give a sense of power in life by helping develop physical and mental potential through the martial arts.

Regular classes at the BujinkanLife Dojo introduce the student to a wide range of material. The practical Bujinkan methods of both unarmed and armed Combat are the cornerstone of every class. The classes are largely concept based. While there are many specific waza, techniques and forms, our focus is for students to develop proper flow, angling, distancing, timing, and use of balance in real life situations over memorizing long lists of techniques or forms.

Our training emphasizes the Bujinkan training method of Dr. Masaaki Hatsumi. The Bujinkan Dojo ("Divine Warrior House") transmits the teachings of nine ancient warrior arts. These traditions include Samurai and Ninja.

Budo-Taijutsu is purely a self-defense combat art with no competitive aspects. The International Bujinkan Dojo is based in Noda City, Japan, and is directed by the 34th Grandmaster Masaaki Hatsumi.

Warrior Creed - by Robert L. Humphrey

- Wherever I go, everyone is a little safer.
- Wherever I am, anyone in need has a friend.
- When I return home, everyone is happy I am there.

"It's a better life"

”Because of the multitudes of teachers out there, I can be more picky about whom I teach. I will be teaching only those with great hearts. Warrior hearts. And I hope that you all, when you return to your homelands, will teach only those with good hearts. That is my wish, and that is why I dont make some giant organization.”
